Totoro Forest and Saitama
2020.06.24

The rainy season starts and when it's sunny you have to go out to try to enjoy the sun as long as you can!

So I did, last saturday. I was alone and with an idea: go in the Totoro's forest!

I love studio ghibli's movie. I went to the museum two times last year. Everytime is like magic :)

Totoro's forest is in Saitama, next to Tokyo (looking a map is up on the left of Tokyo). From Itabashi the best and cheap way is to take a bus and ride the Seibu line in Nerima Eki, arriving directly in the last stop next to the stadium of the Saitama Lions!

From the station walk for 15 minutes and you will arrive in a cute country side. Here the forest starts! It's a nice place to go around and relax, there is just one little problem: it's full of mosquitos and bugs. Bugs are ok but for the moquitos is better to be ready with a protection!

The iconinc number 1 place is the beginning of the way, was the first signal left in the forest, the forest that Miyazaki took as an example for "Tonari no Totoro".

These are "stations" inside the forest. The first picture is the number one, the most famous. On the left side down there is the new one from 2016. It's a nice adventure try to find all of them! Wear comfortable shoes and bring a bottle of water with you though!

In the middle of the forest there is a temple. I really don't know what's about, but it is cute (and full of mosquitos).

Maybe sometimes it is open, but probably now, from the beginning of all the corona situation, they closed it.

Next to the forest there is a lake, across the bridge (next to the lake) you arrive directly to the "main part" of the city and go back to the station.

Next to the station (5 mintes by walk) there is a Buddhist temple, a huge one's! It's been a while since the last time I saw such a big temple. It's full of dragon...but like the temple I wrote lately I don't know anything about it :')

I will share, anyway, the picture I took. I think it's nice to take a walk around and chill a bit before go back to your house.

The temple is full of dragon...maybe is a dragon temple D:

I don't know, but I hope they will not be angry at me because I don't know the main theme of it :D
