Unimaginably Fear-inducing Objects 2021.02.11
What kind of supernatural sightings have you heard about that have made your heart race, a chill run down your spine, the hair raise at the back of your neck and a huge lump that you forcefully have to swallow to keep a scream from escaping the trench of your throat? The one that always got me of course, was Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs).
Most of the stories have been horrific - people abducted and experimented upon in painful and abnormal ways. As a child, the media did a good job of brainwashing me into thinking that this was the most threatening and debilitating experience one could have when it came to unexplained and unproven occurrences. At night, I often watched many tv series that gave me tons of sleepless nights. I could remember cowering in fear after the lights had been turned off, listening to every chirp and creak, waiting to be beamed up into a mobile lab and become subject to unspeakable things - so unspeakable that even if I said anything, it would fall on deaf ears.
I never personally had any experience with such beings but at night, there was this abnormal sound that was so spooky, it made me think the martians were coming to get us. I envisioned it as what happens when plates in the earth move and clash under the sea causing earthquakes. There was a rumbling and distinct shifting sound, the kind of sound that is heard when you push a heavy object across the floor or when there is an avalanche and the falling debris crashes together. I have never heard such sounds in a real life situation thankfully but in movies and owing to my imagination, that is how I would describe those sounds, not from below but from overhead. It truly did sound like a massive spaceship was slowly cutting through the sky and hovering above our houses deciding whom to target.
For my dad who came from a very open minded country with a strong belief in the supernatural, his sighting of a soucouyant was probably not the first or the last encounter for him. There he was, an early-riser, casually going through his morning cleansing ritual of brushing his teeth outside in the fresh air when his attention was caught by an object, bright in the sky, ascending from the rooftop of the neighbour’s house. It darted here and there moving quickly and then was gone just as fast as it had appeared. He was not the only one traumatised by this creature. My next story will feature some more experiences. Stay tuned.
I'm like a chihuahua. Small but fierce and full of energy. I'm generally a positive person and try to make the best of each day.
