Sakura tram
2020.05.26

Something I always want to try was the Sakura tram! I never ride it but "everyone" talk about it (well, no, it's not the first attraction in Tokyo).

But what is it?

The Sakura tram, cute nickname for the Arakawa Todem Tram Line, it's one of the last two tram in Tokyo. Tokyo, first metropolitan in the world, it's a perfect mix between old and new...this is a proof :D

The line goes between Waseda and Minowabashi; during the trip there are many famous spots that you can see. If you are lucky like me and live next to one of the stop of the tram line or in the toei mita line, would be really easy to take a ride and buy a day pass for it.

There are two types of pass, both are for one day but one is for the toei line (bus+train+tram) and one just for the tram. We choose to take the first one! (really benri for me, from Nishidai to the station I took the tram is just Toei Mita Line!)

The pass is this one, the price is cheaper than a normal ticket (of course if you think to stop more than one time).

Was my first time outside since 2 months, it's been a while since I didn't take a metro or any trasport's. Walking through Tokyo made me feel "finally" free and happy. After a week of sadness and rain was a "break-sunday": chill and romantic.

We made a few stop: Ikebukuro, Kishimojin Temple and Asukayama Park. Ikebukuro is famous, no need more explanation I think :D

Kishimojin temple is a temple in the middle of an old part of Tokyo, close to Waseda (home of one of the most important University in Tokyo and Japan), it's a big temple with a legend about a demon's doughter. We didn't see any demon in person..maybe next time? This temple has a torii part, where you can walk through to arrive in front of to pray.

After this stop we decided to go back and stop next to one of the most chill park: Asakuyama!

I would to see it during the cherry blossom...I wasn't so lucky :') Maybe one day when I'll go back in Japan!

In the park we saw a wonderful view of the station, we saw many trains and a shinkansen too! Would be nice travel again with a shinkansen. Maybe one day...again :D

To the next adventure! I hope I will have the chance to see more :)
