ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
This event will be held in cooperation with Videory, a student organization, and Yui Omusubiya, a professional instructor.
This event offers the unique experience of making your own omusubi (rice balls) and grilling nori (seaweed) by yourself.
The goal of this cultural exchange event is to bring Japanese people and foreigners closer together. Although no official language is designated, explanations about omusubi and their history will be provided in English.
The rice used is “Nishiaizu rice,” considered one of the best in Japan. We chose this rice because it is at risk of disappearing due to the aging population, and we hope to help preserve it through this event.
In this workshop, participants will learn about the history of omusubi, which dates back to the Nara period, while also enjoying the deliciousness of Japanese cuisine.
The experience of making omusubi is truly one-of-a-kind.
