This is a career seminar for foreign nationals who want to find a job and build a long-term life in Japan — especially if your Japanese is around N3 or N4.(or maybe N5).
Last time, we explained what the Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) Visa is. This time, we go one step further: you'll hear directly from two fellow OAKHOUSE residents who have already passed the SSW skills test for the accommodation (hotel) field — at their current Japanese level.
Do you still think you need N1 or N2 to work in Japan?

—----------------------------
In reality, for the Engineer/Specialist (技人国) route (commonly known as professional visa), N2 is often the practical bar — and even then, you compete with many N1 and experienced N2 candidates for a limited number of jobs. The SSW Visa is different: an N4 level of Japanese is enough to apply. It's a realistic route to full-time work, and the hotel field is a great fit for people who enjoy working indoors and with guests.
Here's what makes this session special: rather than only explaining the system, we invited two residents who are actually on this path to talk about it honestly — why they chose SSW, why they picked the hotel field out of the 19 options, how they studied for the skills test, and what it was really like to take it at their level.
One honest note: they haven't found jobs yet. This isn't a polished "success story" — it's the real, in-progress journey. And that's exactly what makes it worth hearing.
Take your first step toward working in Japan with confidence — starting right from N3/N4!
