Oakhouse, an operator of international share houses, is hosting a Summer Festival on Saturday, August 8th! The event will take place at "Appartement Asaka," a large share house located in Asaka, Saitama Prefecture.
Asaka Station is just a 15-minute train ride from Ikebukuro, making it super easy to access!

At the venue, we will offer free Yukata (traditional Japanese summer kimono) rentals, a Bon Odori (traditional dance) stage where anyone can join in, and food stalls serving delicious summer treats like shaved ice.

This isn't just about enjoying the festive atmosphere—it's also a great opportunity to mingle! Oakhouse staff and resident volunteers will be there to help everyone connect and have fun.

You don't need to be a current Oakhouse resident, and solo attendees are more than welcome! We hope you'll come and hang out with us.

Eligibility: Open to everyone! (Non-Oakhouse residents are very welcome!)

・You are also welcome to bring your own Yukata or arrive wearing one!
・Stage Performances (3 groups, starting from 18:00): Rap, Anime Song Nihon Buyo (Traditional Japanese Dance), and Singing
・Bon Odori Dance: Practice at 19:00 / Main performance at 19:15
・Art Exhibition: Works by 8 artists
・Food Stalls: Baked potatoes with butter, gyoza-wrapper papadums, somen noodles, taco rice, matcha, and frankfurters

Bon Odori is a traditional Japanese summer dance performed during the Obon period, which is a time when Japanese people welcome and honor the spirits of their ancestors. People dance in a circle to music, and the moves are usually very simple, so anyone can join. Each region in Japan has its own unique style of Bon Odori.
