The town has lots of green nature, as well as shops and supermarket outside the station. And restaurants! Outside the station is Nagayama Kenko-land Taketori no Yu, a super sento bath house, popular with the locals. The house is called Park View for a reason: nearby on top of a hill is Suwa Kita Park.

Postscript

A friend of mine who lived overseas for a long time told me: "if you want to learn a language to communicate, forget school, and just immerse yourself." An overseas study program or language school costs time and money.
But at a share house, like Tama Nagayama Park View, it costs no extra time or money just to live among people learning and speaking other languages, and it's natural to communicate, and we can all learn from each other. What a great way to learn a language naturally!
