Station overview
Moto-Sumiyoshi station is in Nakahara ward in Kawasaki city Kanagawa prefecture, and is on the Tokyu Toyoko and Meguro lines. The station is well-known for its consideration of the environment. The platform and concourse use the latest in solar panel technology, which covers 14% of its energy costs. It also uses collected rainwater in the restrooms. Nearby are Bremen-dori shopping street, and Oz-dori shopping street, where there are many shops that sell all sorts of things to help you day to day. Nakahara Heiwa Park is a 10-minute walk from the station. Average daily ridership for the Toyoko line is 50,000, and 20,000 for the Meguro line, and it is very crowded during rush hour.

One of Moto-Sumiyoshi's best features are the two shopping streets extending to the east and west of the station. Bremen is to the west, and Oz is to the east.
