Station overview
Azabu Juban station opened in just 2000, on the Namboku line. In the same year it became a station on the Oedo subway line as well, making it even more convenient. With its incorporation into the Tokyo Metro system, it has become what it is today, connecting Oji, Meguro, Shiodome, Akabane Iwabuchi, Saitama, Hiyoshi, and other areas. There is an elevator in the station. Average daily ridership on the Tokyo Metro portion is just 50,000 or so, but together with the Toei portion climbs to around 90,000.
Places to see
The most well-known place in this area is perhaps the Azabu Juban shopping area. Take a look at the signboard in front of the station and you will see a countless number of shops. Definitely have your smartphone map app up and running as you walk around looking for a particular shop. There is a Peace Clock monument in the area, as well as other things to find.

Lifestyle
The Azabu Juban shopping street has many places to buy food, from bento meals to side dishes, to yakitori, sake, fresh produce, fresh meat, and much more. There are many old restaurants and eateries in this area as well. There are also many convenience stores and drug stores nearby, so you can still get what you need even after the shops in the main area have closed. There are also convenient banks, hospitals, etc. Of note are the embassies nearby: Australia, Singapore, Argentina, Slovakia, and others, so it is sort of an international atmosphere. If you want to explore the Minato ward area, taking the Community Bus is recommended, and you can ride the bus from many nearby stops.
