The Hasegawa Machiko Art Museum is dedicated to the artist of the long-running and beloved Japanese comic strike, Sazae-san. It collects artwork by Machiko and her older sister Mariko. There are original Sazae-san sketches, miniature models of the Isono house, and a spot where you can watch clips from the Sazae-san TV cartoon anime. The road leading from the station to the museum is called Sazae-san-dori, and there are many bronze statues of characters from the comic along the way.
Baji Koen is run by the JRA, the Japan Racing Association, and is a well-known spot for equestrianism. It opened in 1964 for the Tokyo Olympics. It will be a location for certain events for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic games, so it is currently closed at the moment for preparations. However, it will re-open to the public in 2022.
