Railway Overview
In the middle of the Main line, there are connections to other lines: the Airport Line at Keikyu Kamata station; the Daishi line at Keikyu Kawasaki station; the Zushi Line at Kanazawa Hakkei station; and the Kurihama line at Horinouchi station. Other than the Daishi line, there is through service on all the other lines. The Toei Asakusa line goes through Sengakuji station, and the Asakusa line at Oshiage station also connects to the Keisei, Hokuso, and Shibayama lines, and there are lines that also go directly to Haneda airport. There are several express services as well. The line is an important lifeline covering and connecting Tokyo and Kanagawa prefectures, competing with the JR Tokaido, Keihin Tohoku, and Yokosuka lines. The line is known for being resilient in the face of strong wind or bad weather. It serves commuters going into Yokohama or Shinagawa too.
Places to see
There are many different things to see along the Keikyu Main Line, in particular things that have to do with the ocean. Near Shinagawa station is Aqua Park Shinagawa, and near Omori Kaigan station is the Shinagawa Aquarium as well as the Boat Race Heiwajima. Near Misakiguchi station, the final stop on the Kurihama line, is the Keikyu Aburatsubo Marine Park, where you can take a boat near Yokosuka Chuo station to Sarushima Island where you can enjoy BBQ or fishing. Kawasaki Dice and Lazona Kawasaki Plaza are shopping malls near Keikyu Kawasaki station, and around Yokohama are the Sogo and Marui City department stores.
Lifestyle
For most areas along the Main line, rent prices are fairly affordable. Many stations have plentiful shopping areas nearby. It is a good place for people who work in Shinagawa or Shinbashi areas, or who would find living near Haneda Airport convenient. The central areas of Kawasaki and Yokohama cities will have higher rents, but you can still find reasonable places. You can find a relaxing and convenient lifestyle around the local stations. There are many express options so you will be able to conveniently commute to your destination in shorter times. You can also get to beach towns in Zushi and Yokosuka if you like marine sports.
