Chidoricho station is in Ota ward in Tokyo, on the Tokyu Ikegami line. It opened in 1926, and was named after the former neighborhood the station now occupies. Trains head either toward Gotanda, or Kamata. Average daily ridership is 16,130 people, mainly used by commuters. The station is surrounded by residential neighborhoods, and has shopping streets, supermarkets, and convenience stores. If you walk a ways from the station you can find a hardware store. 10 minutes to the west of the station is Tokyu Tama line Shimo Maruko station, which you can also use to take the Tokyu Toyoko line.
Places to see
Chidoricho station is surrounded by quiet and safe residential neighborhoods. There is a sizeable park called Chidori Ikoi Park nearby. 20 minutes walk away is Ikegami Honganji temple, which dates back to the Edo period. It is a nice place to see Buddhist architecture, and beautiful cherry trees. There is a plum tree garden next to the temple with 370 trees.
Chidoricho station is known as a bedroom town. There is a 24-hour supermarket near the station, as well as a shopping street, so shopping is convenient. It is just 6 minutes by train to Kamata station if you would like to find more shopping and leisure. A 10-minute walk to the west of the station will take you to Shimomaruko station on the Tokyu Tama line, giving you smooth access to the Tokyu Toyoko line. There are many options when traveling from Chidoricho station. It is just 30 minutes by train to Shinagawa, from which you can take the bullet train, or go to Haneda Airport Terminal 1, if you need to jet off on an airplane for a business or pleasure trip.
