Area information of FujimigaokaStation
Station overview
Fujimigaoka station is on the Keio Inokashira line, and is in Tokyo's Suginami ward. It opened in 1933 and was remodeled in 2010. It is not that far from Shibuya.
The station serves around 14,000 riders per day and has held steady for 40 years .There is 1 ticket gate, and 2 exits, north and south.
There are elevators connecting the floors and platform, and to the north exit, but not the south. There is also a wheelchair-accessible bathroom.
Places to see
Near Fujimigaoka station are Utsushinoyu onsen/hot spring and Kisshoin temple.
The onsen is 700m from the station. It is a popular natural hot spring within the 23 special Tokyo wards. There are many different kinds of baths and saunas, as well as a pool. You can enjoy soaking in water in many different ways, from sports to relaxation.
700m from the station is Kisshoin temple, dedicated to the Buddhist figure Kanon. It is a relatively newish temple, but still has a beautiful main hall and other buildings.
Lifestyle
The area around Fujimigaoka station is very natural, and the neighborhood is safe and relaxed. The town has a nostalgic old-time feel in places. Near the station there is a Seiyu supermarket. There is also a drugstore, and some restaurants. From the station you can walk to the Kugayama exercise center, and there is a walking and jogging course near the Tama river.
It is just a 10-minute ride to Shinjuku, and you can get to Shinjuku in just 20 minutes without transferring.
