Station overview

Keisei Funabashi station is in Funabashi city in Chiba prefecture, and is on the Keisei main line only. If you walk 3 minutes via the pedestrian deck at the Face shopping center, you can get to JR Funabashi station, where you can take the JR Chuo, Sobu, or Tobu Urban Park Liner trains. There are express services that stop at Keisei Funabashi, but these of course tend to get very crowded, but the local service less so. You can get to Nippori in as short as 27 minutes. Some trains go through Oshiage on the Toei Asakusa line, so you can get to Nihonbashi or Shinagawa too. There is also plentiful bus coverage. The station area is well-developed, with many places to shop, like Tobu department store, Shapo Funabashi, which opened in 2018, and Face, all of which have many places to shop, eat, and drink.

Places to see

Funabashi is known for the Nakayama Racecourse, where major horse-racing events take place. They even have services where you can ride in horse-drawn carts, so often families will bring children there. Across from the stands are a beautiful line of cherry trees, making for a nice sight during races in the spring.
There are also of course many places to shop, from Ikea to Lalaport Tokyo Bay.

Lifestyle

It takes around 30 minutes to get into metro Tokyo from Keisei Funabashi line, and you can also get to Nippori and Nihonbashi without having to transfer if you take the right train. Also just a 3-minute walk away is JR Funabashi station, from which you can take the JR Sobu or Chuo lines. The south area of Funabashi station contains satellite offices at which you can take care of official paperwork, and there are also places to shop. There are also vibrant old shopping streets used by the locals. The north side also has some places to shop but it is mostly residential. There is a big summer festival every year, with a fireworks show at the finale. As stated before there are many convenient places to shop and find all you will need, like Lalaport Tokyo Bay, Ikea, Aeon Mall, Costco, and hardware stores. There are also movie theaters for weekend movie-going.
