Area information of Nakanobu
Station overview
Nakanobu station is in Shinagawa ward in Tokyo, on both the Tokyu Oimachi line an Toei Asakusa line. It opened in 1927, taking its name from the name of the area. The Oimachi and Asakusa line portions of Nakanobu are separated by about 50 meters.
The Tokyu Oimachi portion has 23,000 riders per day, and the Asakusa line about 31,000.
Both portions have elevators connecting to the platform and ticket gate.
Places to see
Near nakanobu station you can find Kami-Shinmei-Tenso Shrine as well as the Skip Road shopping street.
Kami-Shinmei-Tenso shrine is 400 meters from the station, and though it is unclear exactly when it was built, it is said to have been established in the Kamakura period. It is dedicated to Amaterasu and other Shinto kami gods, with a shrine to Inari and Benzaiten on the grounds as well. The Benzaiten shrine is known as the white snake of Tokyo. Due to the recent boom in receiving stamps from temples and shrines, the shrine has seen a boost in visitors.
Nakanobu Skip Road is the area's shopping street, and there are also many events held throughout the year. It covers 4 blocks of all sorts of shops, from food to hobby to daily goods and clothes. There are even some small shops who have started accepting point cards and credit cards. The entire area is covered, meaning you can enjoy shopping even in rainy weather.
Lifestyle
The Nakanobu area is quite safe, with both families and single people choosing to live here. Plus it is convenient to be able to use two lines, the Oimachi and Asakusa lines.
There are places to shop nearby, like supermarkets, and the covered Skip Road arcade shopping center is well-loved by all locals. There are drug stores, 100 yen stores, fast food, restaurants, cafes, and more.
You can get to Shibuya station in about 10 minutes or so, or Tokyo, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro in 20 minutes. It is a convenient place to enjoy a quiet lifestyle.
