It seems like Japan is going for the world record of the Most Rainfall country this year! It has rained more than any other year that I have been in Japan. Is this normal?? Although I like listening to the rain, I just don’t like my fuzzy hair on a rainy day. Sometimes it is so peaceful to sit in our house’s kitchen, drink a cup of warm tea and listen to the rain.

There are so many yoga schools in Tokyo area now. I have been a member for the past several years and it is one of the best sports I have done in my life!! I was so happy to find a yoga school in Ueno near our house. It is near Marui department store and so relaxing. As the weather is getting better I keep discovering new things in Ueno and feel happy that I live here:)

Last weekend went to Minakami in Gumma. I tried the only bungy in Japan – a 40meter jump off a bridge looking over the beautiful mountians in middle of Japan, absolutely AMAZING!!! We also did rafting which was so exciting! It is so nice to get away from the city sometimes and blend in with nature. Complete relaxation and peace of mind:)

Lately there seems to be a lot of eartquakes and we wonder how durable our houses are!? It’s nice to have housemates to share this ‘exciting’ experience with but we wouldn’t know where to go if we have to leave our house during a big earthquake. If possible, it would be great to have an Earthquake Evacuation Area map in each Oakhouse residence.

Last night some of us from Higashiueno house went to a dance club together and it was so much fun!! It’s so nice to live with such nice people. It was a good chance for us to bond and I’m glad we went out together. Oakhouse has given me a great opportunity to meet some wonderful people. Thank you – Oakhouse!!!

Living in Oakhouse is really nice because you can meet new people and live in centre of Tokyo. The Higashiueno house is one of the most fun guesthouses I have ever stayed in, however, the maintenance isn’t as good as the location. It is a very old house and, as all old houses do, it needs perhaps more maintenance than newer buildings.  We don’t have screen windows so my housemates and I wonder how we are going to survive this summer’s mosquitoes? Any advice?

Higashiueno Oakhouse is a full house now and it is so wild!!! Six girls in a small house is a little over crowded but it has a really funny atmosphere! I think this house is good for 4 people.  There isn’t enough space for cooking, shower or doing laundry.

It feels so cold lately that I think winter is back! We had very few warm days this year for spring and cherry blossoms finished earlier than the usual. Just 1 week of cherry blossom season is very unusal for Japan!! I wish it was longer so we could enjoy these pretty flowers. Also drying clothes get harder as well since it’s been raining non-stop for the past two days.

Tokyo is by far the most exciting city that I’ve ever been to in my life. Recently the weather has been getting warmer which means that all-night clubbing nights has also officially begun!! Since this year I live in Ueno it’s so much easier to get to any of the major club/bar areas in Tokyo or even in Shin-Kiba. Couple of weeks ago we decided to go to Ageha, which is Japan’s biggest nightclub and as usual we thought that we should leave around 10pm to get there but actually it took only 40min. from Ueno so we were so surprised and realized that we don’t have to leave our house so early any longer to get to fun places in Tokyo area!!!

Hanami is almost over and the weather seems to be colder again. However, it feels really warm to come back to a house filled with friendly people. My housemates are all Japanese and they are so sweet! With a little japanese from me and a little english from them we somehow get along really well. Last week, we went to eat lunch together and did some shopping in Muji  in Ueno Marui department store. I bought some reasonable items for my room and had them delivered to our house.  It is so convenient to live near good shops!! My room is finally starting to look more like a home:)
