Smoking

People are smoking and they don’t even care about poisoning others with their bad habit. We live in a guesthouse in Tokyo and some housemates are smoking in ‘common areas’ or around the house where smoke easily enters others’ room which makes it not only unhealthy for others but also stinks the whole house. I wish people had more common sense and took their bad habits elsewhere without hurting others.

Guesthouse Living

It has been a really nice experience living in a guesthouse with other people. There are different nationalities and we can learn so much from eachother. I have already improved my Korean language ability with one of my Korean housemates as well as my Japanese. Anyone who is looking for a truly international experience in Japan should highly consider living in a guesthouse!

A Hospital Experience

A few days ago I had a fever of about 40degrees and somehow managed to get to a hospital in Ueno.  I had a very high fever due to a swallon right tonsil and wasn’t able eat or drink anything. Luckily, one of my housemates was kind enough to come with me to the hospital at 3am. As we approached the main enterance the door was locked and quickly opened by a door staff and after waiting for a few minutes 2 nurses came from a dark room where it seemed like they had been sleeping. Again luckily, my housemate helped me with my japanese language abilities which became really weak with 40degrees temperature and only I remember being told that there was no doctor to treat me  and my only option was to return home and take the medicines ‘again’ which the doctor had given me earlier that day. I couldn’t sleep that night and wondered whether I would wake up with a brain damage if my fever went higher than 40degrees and how is it possible to not to have any doctors in a big hospital in Tokyo in a supposedly developed country?? The first question is answered for me now as I sit here without a brain damage writing this message to anyone out there who can hopefully give me a decent answer back for my second question.
