Railway Overview
Though only 5.7 km in length, it is an important lifeline for the local people living along it.
Service began in 1912, and the line has been running for over 100 years. You can transfer to other lines at Oshiage and Aoto stations, making for convenient transportation.
The Keisei Oshiage line has seen a great resurgence ever since Tokyo SkyTree opened. The areas served by the line run through old downtown neighborhoods, residential areas, and factories.
Places to see
The most famous spot along the Keisei Oshiage line is Tokyo SkyTree. Not only is there the Skytree tower, but there is a huge shopping area at its base, with an aquarium and planetarium too. The tower is 634 meters tall, the tallest broadcast tower in the world. There are two viewing decks giving you a great view over Tokyo.
Keisei Hikifune station is near the Mukojima Hyakkaen Garden, a large Japanese garden with countless examples of nature, plants, and flowers you can enjoy year-round. It is a great place for people living along this line to come relax and see many different kinds of flowers, birds, and insects.
Lifestyle
Thanks to the Tokyo Skytree, the area around Oshiage station has developed considerably. Other areas along the line tend to be relaxed residential areas, with convenient supermarkets, convenience stores, and other affordable daily shopping. The line has service through other lines as well, taking you to other areas.
The Oshiage line is good if you like having different kinds of experiences within grasp. The area also has comparatively affordable rent prices, excepting of course Oshiage.
