Kita-Ayase station is in Adachi ward in Tokyo, and is on the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda line. It opened in 1969, then earned its current name in 1978. It gained platform safety doors in 2002, and in 2008 it got a solar power system. As the first stop on the Chiyoda line, it is local only toward Ayase. Because there is only 1 platform it is not a very big station. Daily ridership has been increasing, hitting 31,000 people in 2017.
In actuality, though Kita-Ayase is designated as a Chiyoda line station, trains to and from it only go to Ayase station, though through service is planned to begin soon.
Places to see
Shobunuma Park is 300 meters from Kita-Ayase station, and has many beautiful iris flowers that bloom from May to June. There are 140 varieties of irises, and over 8,000 individual bulbs. It is a nice, cool place, with a water wheel and waterfall, a perfect place to escape from the bustle of the city. Horyuji temple is 200 meters from the station and was built in the early Edo period. The current main hall was rebuilt in 1922. It is not far from the station and is a nice quiet spot among the neighborhood.
With a supermarket and drugstore near Kita-Ayase station it should be convenient to get things you need day to day. Though it is not a bustling shopping area, you should be able to get what you need. There are some places to eat and drink, and it is a safe place. There are many parks like Shobunuma Park where you can relax.
Before you would need to transfer at Ayase station to continue on the Chiyoda line, but from Spring 2019 there is through service, which should be a welcome and convenient change for those living in this area, especially as it continues to develop.
