Area information of Kojiya
Station overview
Kojiya is in Ota ward in Tokyo, on the Keikyu Airport line. It opened in the Meiji period, in 1902, and underwent renovation in 1992 and 2005, with major renovations finally complete in 2017. Average daily ridership is 26,000. The station lies on several express services, though not all. Escalators and elevators connect the gate and platforms, and there is an accessible bathroom.
Places to see
Most of the area around Kojiya station is residential neighborhoods, but of note are Haginaka and Myoho Inari shrines. Haginaka shrine is 300 meters from the station, and covers a wide area and has a place for children to play. It is unclear when it was built, and is dedicated to the Shinto kami Amaterasu. Its main festival is in late August, with a popular Obon festival. Myoho Inari shrine was built comparatively recently, in 1801, and is an off-shoot of Kyoto's Fushimi Inari shrine. Much of it was lost to earthquake and war, but it has since been rebuilt. It is a popular spot to receive a goshuin stamp.
Lifestyle
The area around Kojiya station is quite safe and livable. It is close to Haneda Airport, so sometimes there is noise, but the access to said airport is convenient. The next station over is Keikyu Kamata station, where you can find lots of shopping and leisure. Several express services stop here, giving one good access to other areas like Shinagawa. There are several supermarkets around the station, and drugstores and 100 yen shops, as well as a shopping street with individual shops. From Shinagawa station you can transfer to the Yamanote line for convenient commuting. If you work at Haneda airport for example this is a convenient place to live.
