Station overview
Shirokanedai is a relatively newer station, opened in 2000. The Nambu line from here goes toward either Akabane-Iwabuchi and Urawa-Misono, or Meguro, Ookayama, and Hiyoshi. There are about 20 elevators in this station, because the platform is 27 meters underground, or 4 or 5 floors underground. There are 2 exits, but number 1 exit is closed between 11 pm and 6 am.
Places to see
Happo-en is a popular spot to hold weddings because it is close enough to the station. Even though there is a lot of traffic on Meguro-dori, the garden still maintains a quaint relaxed atmosphere perfect for weddings. Right next to the station is the Yukashi no Mori building, a 7-floor building that houses a local history museum, a childcare center, student support, and more, and boasts a nice-looking exterior.

Lifestyle
There are many high-rise apartments along Meguro-dori. There are not many large shopping centers to speak of, but some shops are open 24 hours, like the Maruetsu grocery store and Platinum Don Quixote store. It should be possible to get all the foodstuffs and daily goods you will need. A short walk from the station will take you to the Institute for Nature Study, and the station building itself houses the Yukari no Mori childcare support center which is helpful for working mothers. There is a large bicycle parking area on top of the building, with discount passes for students and Minato ward residents. Bicycling is a nice way to get around town.
