Area information of Suginami

Area overview

Suginami is home to 550,000 people and has great access to the rest of the city. It has more single-family homes than other wards, as well as many spots to enjoy nature. Suginami has famous areas like Koenji, Asagaya, and Ogikubo, and is home to events like Koenji Awaodori or Asagaya's Jazz Street. Both these areas are famous for music. Ogikubo particularly has a classical feel.

Things to see

From Suginami you can take the JR Chuo line or Keio Inokashira line to get into the heart of the city, while being able to live in an area with lots of nature. It has been popular since before World War II. If Kamakura was the best place in the west, the best place in the east was Ogikubo, so they said. Recently, Suginami has seen a lot of progress as a center for youth culture, with fashion, clubs with live music, jazz cafes, popular ramen shops, and anime production companies.

Lifestyle

Suginami has a lot of people in comparison to many other wards. Many families live here in single-family homes. There are not many single mothers and the divorce rate is low. It has a high rate of people going to college, listed among Setagaya and Minato wards. With a youth- and family-focused environment surrounded by nature, it is a great place to raise children. In the past, Suginami had a garbage problem, but there have been great efforts to clean up the city and the environment and now the city is very clean and livable.

Area information of Nakano FujimichoStation

Nakano-Fujimicho is in Nakano ward in Tokyo, on the Metro Marunouchi line. It opened in 1961. Platform doors and steps were added in 2004, with elevators coming in 2007 to provide a more barrier-free experience. The ticket gate is on the ground floor, and the platform on the floor below, which are connected through elevators and stairs. Trains head toward either Honancho, or Nakano-Sakaue. Average daily ridership is 19,500, an increase of 2000 over the last 10 years. It is one of the least-used stations in the Tokyo Metro system.
