Area information of Kita

Area overview

Several train lines cross Kita ward, including the JR Saikyo and Tohoku lines, Saitama railway line, and Tokyo Metro Nanboku line. It has three distinct areas: Takinogawa, Oji, and Akabane, but they have long been healthy business areas so a Japanese downtown feel still pervades. There are 300,000 people living in Kita ward, so it is a big city with many office buildings as well, but about 176,000 of these people tend to work or go to school outside the ward.
