Funabashi is in the northwest of Chiba, bordering Tokyo Bay. In the Edo period, it was a bustling stop along the Sakura highway. On April 1st 1937, the towns and villages of Funabashi, Katsushika, Yasakae, Hoden, and Tsukada merged to become the modern Funbashi City. It has a good balance of manufacturying, business, residential, and agricultural areas, and is close to Tokyo and Narita Airport. There are many convenient train lines that run through the city connecting it to Tokyo in under 30 minutes, which makes Funabashi a convenitent bedroom down. It is also known as a convenient place to raise healthy children.
Things to see

One of Funabashi's most popular spots is the Funabashi Andersen Park. Funabashi is sister cities with Odense, Denmark, so the Andersen Park is modeled in the Danish fashion. It is a huge expansive area, 6 times bigger than Tokyo Dome, with many places for children to play and learn, such as playground equipment and museums geared towards kids. There is also a petting zoo with goats, sheep, rabbits, and guinea pigs. It's only a reasonable fee to enter for a fun day.
