Area information of Edogawa
Area outline
Edogawa ward is on the easternmost edge of Tokyo, bordering Chiba. It is a spacious ward with 50 square kilometers, and in its residential areas holding 680,000 people. Though there is a mix of residential and other buildings, Edogawa doesn't really have a lot of high-rise buildings, so you can easily see Sky Tree from here.
To the south is Tokyo Bay, to the East is the Edogawa river, to the west is the Arakawa river, and the Shin-Nakagawa flows through the center, so this ward is surrounded by water. Near the bay is Kasai Rinkai Park, and there are of course other relaxing parks in this ward, and you can also enjoy sports in them.
As for transportation, you can take the Toei Shinjuku line, Tokyo Metro Tozai line, JR Keiyou line, and JR Sobu line, among others, so it is easy to get around or into the rest of the city. There are also plenty of good routes for cars as well.
Things to see

Kasai Rinkai park is probably the best-known area of Edogawa ward. It has a big Ferris wheel, and places to have a barbecue. There is also an aquarium in the park where you can see penguins and other aquatic animals.
There are many other parks as well. There is a park with great flower gardens, or even a zoo where you can see red pandas or interact with sheep or rabbits. Pony land, where you can ride a pony, is popular with children.
Also, every year in August, there is the Edogawa fireworks festival.
Lifestyle

Edogawa has many people living in it, so there are lots of residential buildings.
Most people who live in Edogawa work in other wards, so the population drops to about 530,000 during the day. Near most stations there are supermarkets so it is convienient. There are also still many old-style markets and streets and shops, retaining a typically Japanese downtown feel.
