Area information of Tsurukawa

Station overview

Tsurukawa station is in Machida city in Tokyo, and is on the Odakyu Odawara line. It is in the east of Machida city. It opened in 1927, and has not seen too much expansion since. The station is served by local, semi-express, and commuter express services, and sees 69,000 riders per day. Nearby are universities and other schools so there are many students that commute here. There are no escalators, but there are elevators.

Places to see

As there are many universities near Tsurukawa, it can feel like a student town. One place of note is TBS's Midoriyama Studio City, a spacious nature area where the TV station films many things. In addition to filming there are also events held here. There is a golf studio, tennis court, and other open areas.
A bit further from Tsurukawa is the Kodomo no Kuni amusement park. There are many assorted things to experience and play. There are also places to eat there.

Lifestyle

There are 2 large supermarkets on the north side of Tsurukawa station, as well as a drug store and 100-yen shop. The south area heads to the Tsurumi river, and also has many shops like fast food and restaurants. Machida station is 2 stops away, and you can find all manner of places to shop there, as well as a movie theater, bowling alley, and more. Tsurukawa station is a relaxed area to live away from the city bustle, and you can get to Shibuya in 20 to 30 minutes.
