Area information of Musashino

Area overview

Musashino city lies pretty much equidistant from the Tokyo metropolis and the rest of the city in the west. It has many industries as well as plentiful natural areas and large neighborhoods. It has a solid image of a place where people would like to live. It has many department stores, restaurants, and parks that are enjoyed by people across all ages, such as the Kichijoji area with Inokashira Park, the central area, with sports and many others facilities, and Musashi proper, with many cultural and educational areas and nature. There are also many farming families.

Things to see

Kichijoji is the most popular place in Musashino, often mentioned on TV or in magazines. It retains a lot of old-style shops while also successfully having many new and individualistic shops. Take a walk from the station to see a zoo, museum, stalls at the park, and take in the various nature spots. The Tama river also flows through Musashino, and you can walk, jog, or cycle along the river from Mitaka station.

Lifestyle

A long-running community bus called "mu-bus" connects the neighborhoods among the three areas of Kichijoji, Mitaka, and Musashino. There is a day service and short stay facility for the elderly, as well as many facilities supporting children from birth to 3 years of age. The maintenance and management of Musashino's parks come from community groups, who help to maintain the parks, buildings, and river sides. They have created a great balance between neighborhoods and green spaces, preserved spaces for farmland, and secured emergency areas in case of disaster. Most residents probably do not feel the need to venture into the metropolis, as everything they want and need is in their city already. Living alonside nature is the Musashino lifestyle.

Area information of MitakaStation

Mitaka station is in Mitaka City in Tokyo, on the JR Chuo rapid line and Chuo Sobu local line. It opened in 1929, and serves 96,000 riders every day. Even though it technically is only on one service line, this is a high number. In addition to regular exits, there is an exit that goes right into the Atrevie Mitaka shopping center. There are 4 elevators in the station and an accessible bathroom. There are also waiting rooms on the platforms.
