Area information of Funabashi
Area information
Funabashi is in the northwest of Chiba, bordering Tokyo Bay. In the Edo period, it was a bustling stop along the Sakura highway. On April 1st 1937, the towns and villages of Funabashi, Katsushika, Yasakae, Hoden, and Tsukada merged to become the modern Funbashi City. It has a good balance of manufacturying, business, residential, and agricultural areas, and is close to Tokyo and Narita Airport. There are many convenient train lines that run through the city connecting it to Tokyo in under 30 minutes, which makes Funabashi a convenitent bedroom down. It is also known as a convenient place to raise healthy children.
Things to see
One of Funabashi's most popular spots is the Funabashi Andersen Park. Funabashi is sister cities with Odense, Denmark, so the Andersen Park is modeled in the Danish fashion. It is a huge expansive area, 6 times bigger than Tokyo Dome, with many places for children to play and learn, such as playground equipment and museums geared towards kids. There is also a petting zoo with goats, sheep, rabbits, and guinea pigs. It's only a reasonable fee to enter for a fun day.
Lifestyle
Funabashi is only 20 kilometers from the main Tokyo area, is served by 9 train lines and has 35 stations. You can get into Tokyo within 30 minutes, making Funabashi perfectly situated for commuting for work or school. Area information of Shimosa NakayamaStation
Shimousa-Nakayama station is in Funabashi city in Chiba prefecture, and is on the JR Sobu line. It is a local stop only, but if you walk 5 minutes you can get to Keisei Nakayama station for direct access to Ueno, Asakusa, and Narita airport. It's very crowded during weekday rush hour, but during the day you should be able to find a seat. You can get to Akihabara in 24 minutes, or to Shinjuku direct. The train tends to get lighter from around Ochanomiza station, so from around Iidabashi station you can usually find a seat. There are not many buses that go from the station, and getting around by car may be difficult with its many small streets, but there are lots of small shops and places to eat. The shopping center Mireniti Nakayama is near the north exit.
