Area information of Kawasaki

Area information

Kawasaki is a city in the northeastern part of Kanagawa. It is very livable and focus has been placed on it as a good place to raise children. It is close to the Tokyo metropolis as well as Yokohama, so it is convenient.

Things to see

Kawasaki city has many facilities that promote culture and the arts, and it is popular as an artist town. One popular spot is the Fujiko F. Fujio Museum, celebrating the works of the artist and writer of Doraemon and other popular Japanese manga, and can be enjoyed by all ages. The café on the 3rd floor of the museum has a special menu. Other spots worth mentioning are the Japan Open-Air Folk House Museum, with a collection of old Japanese folk houses; and the Taro Okamoto Museum of Art.
Kawasaki also has many places where you can enjoy sports. There is the Todoroki sports arena, which is home to Kawasaki’s own J-league football club, Kawasaki Frontale. As an indoor arena Todoroki arena is also used for volleyball and basketball games.

Lifestyle

Though Kawasaki is a large city, it still has lots of areas of nature and water, and there is plenty to do and see. Ikuta Park is in the north, for example, with plenty of trees and greenery. Musashi-Kosugi is a growing residential area that is rising in popularity.
The area around Kawasaki station has many convenient places to shop and eat and is always bustling.
The fact that Kawasaki is also a prime manufacturing spot also casts a limelight on it. You can take factory tours and see other places of production. Kawasaki has a diverse range of things that attract tourists and sightseers.

Area information of Hiyoshi(Kanagawa)Station

Hiyoshi is in Kohoku ward in Yokohama city, on the Tokyu Toyoko and Meguro lines as well as the Yokohama Subway. The Toyoko line can take you to Yokohama or Shibuya stations easily, while the station serves as the first stop on both the Meguro and Yokohama subway lines, giving one access toward Meguro or Nakayama in Kanagawa. This gives you a very wide range of travel options. Average daily ridership on the Tokyu lines is 150,000, and 80,000 for the Yokohama subway. There are plans to connect this line to the Sagami line in 2022. It is a very old station, opened alongside the Tokyu railway company itself. It is mostly famous for being near Keio University, but thanks to its good access it has become a more popular bedroom town. Five shopping streets fan out from the west exit--Hiyoshi Chuo dori, Sun Road, Ginza dori, Futsubu dori, and Main Road. There you will find many places to eat and drink, as well as ramen shops beloved by students.
