Area information

Chiyoda ward in Tokyo is the center of Japanese government and economics. It is home to the Diet, government organizations and branches, and the Prime Minister's residence. There are also many foreign embassies here, such as Ireland, England, India, Belgium, Portugal, and 9 others, as well as many foreign and international banks. The Supreme Court is also in Chiyoda.

Though there are plenty of skyscrapers, 15% of Chiyoda is areas of nature. The most representative is the Imperial Palace. It and Hibiya park are particularly beautiful.


Things to see

Area information of AkihabaraStation

Akihabara station is in Tokyo's Chiyoda ward, and is on JR, Metro, and Tsukuba Express lines. On these 5 lines, you can get to northeast Tokyo, Chiba, or Ibaraki. The station began in 1890, but was originally just a freight stop. It opened for commuters in 1925, and extensions were made to nearby areas as the years went on. The freight stop was discontinued in 1975. The former trainyard lot was sold, and Akiba Yodobashi Camera was opened in 2005. The former freight line area was converted to the Tsukuba Express station.
