Every once in a while, there’s some new people moving in the house. and also there’s someone who move out.
Last week, two of our house mates, Sangey and Masa, left the house. Sangey went back to his hometown in England and he says he is planning to study in Denmark. In case of Masa, it was his temporary stay in Japan to teach some classes in the university. He is a permanent resident in Australia.
Some of us in “Oakhouse Kichijoji 2” planned a farewell party in Namchai, a locally well-known Thai restaurant just 5 minutes away from the house. We usually don’t do parties in a restaurant because it gets pricy but we know the owner of Namchai and he is nice enough to give us a discount.

What we did is basically just checking the date that the restaurant is available, set a budget, and bring people. House party is usually our No.1 choice but sometimes renting up the whole restaurant works better when you don’t really know how many people are actually coming. and ofcourse, there’s no shortage of food and alcohol. We paid about 1500 yen per person for food and drinks. Pretty cheap isn’t it? Namchai also allow us to bring our own drinks.

Namchai is a special place but it’s not that special. Most restaurants in Tokyo has some kind of party plans which let you occupy the whole space for bigger number of people. Usually you can tell them your budget and they arrange something for you.
Just one thing you should be careful is all you can drink plan. Unless you want to get super wasted, it’s better not to choose this option. It’s most likely expensive and they serve you some cheap food (because at the end of the day, food quality doesn’t matter if you can drink as much as you want)
Enjoy!
