我がソーシャルレジデンスは260部屋。
ひと部屋でふたり住んでいるカップルやご夫婦もいらっしゃる。
なので、300人弱がひとつ屋根の下。

もちろん、女子も100人以上いらっしゃる。

ここで、、、僕の黒歴史♪ｗ
もともとはボンボンで育った。
幼稚園から、ほぼ男子校。
小学校は男子校だし、中高にいたっては、
全寮制男子校！
高３のころだったか、マジで世の中の95％は男だと考えてた。
だって、見渡す限り、女性を見ることすらないんだから。
男女が半々いるなんて、都市伝説だとマジで考えてた。

進学校だったけど、大学へ行った理由は
バレンタインデーもらえるから♪
大学生になって、せっせと友達を作り、半年経ったら、みんなに
「大学１友達が多い」と言われてた。
大学生の実態を知りたかったためもあるけど、
裏目的は「バレンタインデーで義理チョコをもらう大作戦」

結果は・・・

まさかの母からの１個！

理由は、バレンタインデーって、大学は春休みだから。
休みと気づいたあとの数日は、ショック死同然な廃人と化したのを覚えてるｗ

そして、話を戻すと、、、
我がソーシャルレジデンスは100人も女子とひとつ屋根の下。
１階のリビングで遊んでいると、女子の友達はわんさかできる。
昨年も、もてない僕へギリチョコわんさか頂いた。
もちろん、喜んでお返しさせていただき、昨年は海外で有名チョコを購入してきた。

この取り組み、島の文化継承に尽力するおじいに

星のやスタッフの小山さんが個人的に弟子入りしたことが

始まりだったそう(*ﾟQﾟ*)　伝統的な島と最新リゾートとの

共同プロジェクトに育ってったって心温まるステキなストーリーでしょ。

そんな伝統食材を使った「島テロワール」という

独自フレンチが最高に美味でしてねぇ。

撮影部隊は4人。カメラマンさん、ライターさん、

編集さん、わたしの４人でそれこそ女子旅みたい。

めっちゃ笑いながら、もちろんしっかりキビキビ

とってもいい現場でした。ありがとうございました！

ひとりは淋しいようと思っていた広島は倉橋島での滞在は

島の方々に隙なく（泣くほど）笑わされ癒され

朝焼け前から夕焼け後まで神経研ぎ澄まし撮影し

満足充実ほくほくに終えました。

 

 

メインにはポスター、その他サイトの動画、

諸々PR的なお仕事で仕上がりが楽しみです。

 

 

最後ダッシュで広島帰らないと終電がって夕暮れ後、

長ーい防波堤を撮影しつつ走って跳んで回りながら車に戻ってたら

「楽しそうだねぇ」

おっちゃんとわんこが目を細めて眺めてましたw

 

 

ところで倉橋島の人々はオープンマインド甚だしくw

仲良くなるための数分とかないんです、年配の方もw

ゲームとソーシャルレジデンスは、マッチングしまくってる。
ネットを使ったゲームでも、数人で携帯を片手に同じゲームしてる。
そして、リアルに自分の能力アップなら、ネットのより、ボードゲームの方がお勧め。

とはいえ、ボードゲームは人数と時間がかかる。
家庭で住もうが、一人暮らしや同棲しようが、ボードゲームまで人数は足りない。

けど、大型シェアハウスなソーシャルレジデンスだと、毎日ボードゲームができる。
先日は、夜の２時半から、お声がけが始まった。
そして、我が260人のソーシャルレジデンスなら、そんな夜中でもゲームが始まる。

さらに、他の日だけど、朝の８時半までボードゲームしてた。
ゲームの名前は「パンデミック」
みんなで協力して、ウィルスを治癒させ、世界を救うゲーム。
つまり、みんなが勝つか負けるかという、ゲーム。
新型ウィルスの脅威にさらされてる現世界とマッチングする。
とはいえ、これがめちゃくちゃ難しくて、クリアーするまでガンバってたら、朝の８時半になってしまったｗ

こーいう時間の使い方ができるのも、ソーシャルレジデンスのおかげさまんさ。
人もいっぱい住んでるから、遊んでくれる人もいるし、
どっかのお店でやったり、借りたりしてお金がかかるのでもなく、巨大リビングでいつでもプレイできる。
このゲームすら、今回プレイしてない住民からお借りしたゲームですし。

仲良くなれるし、お互いを理解できるし。
そして、さまざまなゲームにおいて、さまざまな異なる判断の数をすることで、判断力が上がり、交渉しなきゃいけないゲームでは、交渉力が飛躍的にアップする。

楽しすぎるソーシャルレジデンス生活。

Every year, December is usually the busiest month for me. What keeps me busy is probably the trips that I make at the end of the month toward the beginning of the new year. I went back to my hometown with my wife and daughter to see my family back home. It takes a few hours to reach my hometown by Shinkansen and that’s when majority of people in the country travel too. Let me tell you how I spent my time during the new year holiday. My plan does not look too special but at least you get to see how an ordinary holiday plan looks like in Japan.

1. Shinkansen trip back to my hometown

Every year on the 31st of December until the first 3 days of the new year are the days that I spend my time with my family back in my hometown. My hometown is located in Okazaki which is fairly close from Nagoya. It is the busiest time for Shinkansen so that we usually book the seats a couple of weeks ahead. I think many people book even months ahead.
We usually only spend one day or less at my hometown as we still have my wife’s hometown to visit. This might look bizarre for ordinary couple in Japan as most of the times families are expected to come to husband’s hometown and spend longer time with husbands parents. Depends on where husband’s parents are living, often times visiting there would be such stressful event for a wife.
Looks like it’s not really the case for us as there’s nothing much going on in my parents house and we leave within a day.
I guess one of the new year stuff that I did back in my hometown is Mochi pounding.

This is not something I do every year but a friend of mine who I used to hang out in Oakhouse Kichijoji 2 happened to be back in town at the same time as me. His parents house is like two mins walk from my parents house so he invited me to take a look at this mochi event. Even though it is something traditional to do during new year’s holiday, not many families do this nowadays simply because preparing for the whole event takes time and effort especially when our parents get old.

Unfortunately, my friend’s family who hosted this mochi event was saying this is the last year they’re going to host this.

2. A local train ride back to my wife’s hometown

Heading to my wife’s hometown takes about two hours by train. Taking a train on Meitetsu line and passing through Nagoya and taking another local train called Yoro Railway, takes us to a neighboring prefecture called Gifu.

The train station we get off is in such rural area. This local train is something opposite to what I see in Tokyo. Not crowded at all and the train comes only once in 30 mins or so. It is such a peaceful quiet area. The train is part of the important infrastructure but most people living in the area have a car so this is not something everyone takes everyday.

3. Reunion at the house with relatives

Just like how Christmas is about reunion with distant relatives in the west, new year’s holiday basically plays the same role. My wife’s family back home is a good example of this. Every year we go visit in Gifu, all her sisters and their family plus some distant cousins come join us for dinner.

Prior to this reunion, I spent some time at a local shopping mall just to see if there’s something interesting and found this amazing looking Wagyu steak in one of the high-end supermarkets. Grilling Wagyu steak at the reunion became my objective soon after.
This 300g Wagyu steak was priced at about 2000 yen which is such a good deal I won’t find in Tokyo. I’m sure the price would’ve been doubled if it was in Tokyo.

This beautiful piece of beef turned into a medium rare steak and served with Rucola leaves, Olive oil, soy sauce and wasabi. It was just amazingly done and I was so proud of myself. The piece was so soft and melted in my mouth.

4. Going to a shrine on the first day of the year

Going to a shrine is something most Japanese people do no matter what their religion is. It’s kind of a Shinto thing and everyone does this without even realizing that this is considered as a religious act.
The reason I go there would be because I’m usually bored around this time of the year and the fortune telling they have at the shrine is kind of fun.

The fortune-telling is written on the paper and you’re supposed to tie it in before you leave the shrine

These are the things I did during the new year’s holiday. I realized that I actually did many traditional stuff, at least things I can only do in Japan. My favorite one is the part that involves cooking wagyu beef.

沖縄本島からほど近い離島はなかなかの穴場、

だいぶ離島狂いのわたしも見逃してました。

まさか沖縄本島まわり、行きやすいところに

こんなにたくさんお宝的な島々があったとはねぇ。

 

 

わたしが訪れてここやばいと思ったのは渡名喜島！

海がやっばくすばらしいのは沖縄離島のスタンダードだけど

渡名喜だけの特徴といえば２点。

亀さんファミリー驚異の70頭すぐそこビーチに生息、

本気すぎる古民家集落ライフが超ゆかい。

ってことですねぇ。是非いらしてください！

 

 

なかなか珍しい動画撮れちゃいましたよ。

コバンザメが亀さんにのかってるだけでなく

ほかのコバンザメを追い払うシーンがね。

なかなか見られないそうで、どうぞ〜。

最高峰のプレゼンのステージＴＥＤ
その日本版がＴＥＤｘ（地名）（大学名）など開催。
一生に一度登壇できれば、最高！

2016年、すでに3年間、毎週講演依頼をいただいていた僕が目指した聖地。
最初の９か月は、誰よりも落ちまくった。
10か月目は逆に３つほど内定を頂けた。

そして、毎年１～２登壇をさせて頂き、
2019年も多忙ななか、１登壇させて頂いた。
いつの間にか、日本最高登壇数の５回。
関係者いわく「次点が３回のほりえもんさんと、yahoo執行役員の方とか５人ほど」

まぁ、ぶっちゃけなこと言えば登壇回数なんて、ひとつの指標なだけ。
【世界へシェアすべきアイディア】がＴＥＤのコンセプト。
たんに様々な視点を僕が持ち合わせてるってだけ。
あと、ＴＥＤを愛してるので、
そのために報酬なくとも１か月とか仕事をストップさせてでも、
本氣のプレゼンを作り上げるだけ。

今回のテーマは、僕がずーーっと話したかった
日本人がハッピーになるためのヒント、前編。
そー、後編も狙っていきたい。
時間を創れるかの勝負かもだけど。

もっと、僕ら日本人は、ハッピーと自覚して、
もっとハッピーになりにくい人へ手を差し伸べるのが、世界にとっての役割分担かと。
また、動画が上がったら、ご紹介させてください。

ぶっちゃけ、プレゼンを教えるのでも食べれる自信あり。
でも、他のことでも、多忙にて、仕掛けてる余裕も時間もなし。
これも、みんなのおかげさまんさ❤

Working in a cafe with a laptop is something that most of us do every once in a while. I’m an employed by a company based in Shibuya but I work remotely on some days a week depending on my schedule. I usually work at my place, Tachikawa Garden Town, which is in Tachikawa but that is not always the ideal place to work. Everyone has their own version of “ideal working environment.” In my case, it’s a place with complete silence without anyone in sight. I know many people prefer to stay at a cafe and work fine in an environment where you’re surrounded by strangers. I still prefer a quiet environment over a white noise environment but I don’t always have a choice especially when my wife and 1 year old daughter are at home.

Seats with charging plugs

There are several seats with charging plugs on the 3rd floor of Ecute, one of the department store brand you often find in the station building. The seats are completely free of charge for anyone to use. The sign says not to use for more than an hour because the seats are built for short time use only but this helps a lot for people who want to take a seat or work on something just for 10 mins for example.
The chairs are probably not so comfortable to sit for long hours but it’s great for one hour or less. I use this space when the trains are delayed or stopped which happens every now and then on Chuo line. When trains are stopped, I could try my luck and get on the train but often times the entire Chuo line is affected and you just end up spending longer on the train which is just a waste of time. It would make much more sense to stay at this space for an hour and get on the train.

As you can see, the plugs are on the table which is very easy to reach even if you have a charging adaptor for your laptop. The desk space isn’t really big and the seats next to you are usually occupied by other people so you might not want to take up too much space.
This space helps a lot when you want to open your laptop and get some small things done. Usually we don’t really have a choice but go to a cafe but paying for a 500 yen coffee when you don’t really want to drink anything is kind of a waste. Nowadays cafe asks you to order more if you stay there for more than certain hours. Working in a cafe can cost you a lot if you plan to stay for a while.

Bring your own food or drinks

Surprisingly, this space is eating and drinking friendly. The drink and food do not even have to be bought in the same department. It can be just the food you brought from home or something you bought in other stores unrelated to Ecute. Whoever decided to built this space for everyone must be so generous.
Just so you know, buying any food or drinks for take-out is imposed of 8% consumer tax at the time of payment. In case you plan to consume the store-bought food or drinks in the store, however, is imposed of 10% consumer tax instead. Be careful when you buy things on the 2nd floor of Ecute and bring the food or drinks to this seat.

The sign says “Please refrain from occupying the seat for more than an hour for everyone”

This is so-called “eat-in tax evasion” or イートイン脱税 and it was one of the internet meme for a while after the tax increase in October 2019. However, the National Tax Agency in Japan officialy made a comment later and it says this is more of an ethical matter and there won’t be any punishment or fine for people who did this.
I did say be careful because it says so in the sign on the table but it turns out this is not really something anyone should be worried about.
Anyway, try this space if you have a chance to come to Tachikawa station.

Bowling, in my opinion, is one of the most underrated activities in Tokyo. It is hardly the popular things to do for most people and it has the image of something old school like it was popular back in the 80s. The part of the reason why people think it’s old is because most local bowling lanes are actually really old.
It was quite a surprise when I heard there’s a new bowling lanes opening in Kichijoji. Back then I was still living in Oakhouse Kichijoji 2 where this lane would be located within the walking distance from the house.

Even after the new lanes open as Round One Kichijoji and I was pretty excited to try the place out, I realized that it didn’t really attract me for some reason. Now I that I think about it, I should’ve tried out the bowling at least.
Just a couple of weeks ago, me and two of my former Kichijoji2 housemates somehow ended up going to this bowling place in Kichijoji. I had never done bowling at this place and I didn’t even remember bowling in Tokyo ever actually.

Decent pricing for a new and clean facility

We knew there are two places in Kichijoji where we can possibly bowl. One in Tokyo Bowling Center which is inside the hotel close to Tokyu store. We went there first but the place was closing in 30 mins. I remember it was around 9:30pm so this place closes pretty early for a bowling place. I also thought this bowling place is one of the old ones. Saying that it was a interior of 80s just sounds pretty cool and that’s a compliment but that actually is not a compliment in Japan. It just means it’s old in a bad way.

Then we were headed to Round One Kichijoji which is located at the end of Sun Road.
We did two games for about 1800 yen each which is probably the same for any other lanes in Tokyo.

The Strike Challenge

Round One does something called Strike Challenge which is they darken the entire floor for a single throw and everyone is supposed to throw at the same time. This is a tricky one because the lighting is different and you almost not be able to see the lane but only the pins ahead of the lane. Also this event is something only happening once a game.

My friend Thomas actually got a strike and he was the only one who got it out of all lanes on the same floor. It was the highlight of the entire night that day.

Free Purikura as a prize

Well, it wouldn’t even have crossed my mind to do Purikura with just three guys after work. We did it anyway. It was offered as a gift for that strike that Thomas got and it would have been wasted if we didn’t. So why not!

I really didn’t expect this random bowling to be this much fun. I somehow got the best score of my entire life too. If you’re looking for a place for bowling in Kichijoji, Round One is the place you should try out.

そのｊさんは同じ階に住んでるし、リビングでもよく逢う。
「この食事の種類でおいしーとこってどこですか？」
とたびたび教えを請う。

彼女さんと僕が好きな「ラーメンだったら、お勧めどこ？」
と聞いたとき帰ってきた答えが
「西葛西のまんりきも、スパイスラーメンって新分野だけど、ぜひ行って欲しい」

むしろ、駅からソーシャルレジデンス西葛西へ行くとき、通りかかるほどの距離感。
そりゃ、行くしかないっしょ。

SR西葛西の住民いわく、並んでるときもけっこーあるとのこと。

「個人差あるけど、好きな人は大好きになって、ハマるラーメン」とのこと。
その通りな味♪

僕ら住んでるSR蒲田近くも、蒲田駅のほうまで行くと、おいしーラーメン屋ある。
いろんなソーシャルレジデンス住民たちで、ラーメン食べ歩きの会とかもしてみたいｗ
