I wrote about my housemate Joon who started a company while living in Oakhouse Kichijoji 2. (He still lives in our house too!)
His business is called “Cottea” and I wrote more about his business here.

Some of us who live in the house were actually involved in early stages. Maud as a UI/UX designer designed the logo and helped him build the website, and also did the art direction. Shohei, a professional event organizer, help Joon in his store once in a while. I’m mainly working on the online marketing, writing and editing their online contents.

Joon and his business partner Seongwon invited me to their party last week celebrate their success and Christmas.
I realized that there are many people involved to launch Cottea. It was great getting to know their web developer and interior designer who did a great job on their website and the store in Aoyama.

The party was held in Seongwon’s tower mansion in Kachidoki. There was a party room where they booked in advance for us.

Joon and Seongwon brought a cake for me and Momo (my wife) because we recently got married. It was very nice of them!
I’m so glad that I met Joon in Oakhouse. When we met, we had no clue that we will be working together like this. Living in Oakhouse gave me opportunities to meet all these cool people. I really appreciate this.

At the end of the party, we did some game and received their gift. It was Cottea’s coffee!

There are certain foods you always crave for every once in a while. In my case, it’s Yama-chan, a chicken wings restaurant or izakaya. I was born and raised in Aichi and Yama-chan is from there. I wasn’t really a big fan of the chicken wings when I was a kid but I changed my mind after I moved to Tokyo almost 4 years ago. Yesterday a bunch of us in Oakhouse Kichijoji 2 got yama-chan’s chicken wings in Shinjuku, brought back the chicken and had a Yama-chan party in the living room.

There are three Yama-chan in Shinjuku. “Yasukuni-dori ten” is where we went. Don’t miss this sign!

Chicken wings are great, especially for a midnight snack or movies. But, how about for a dinner? This is what I had in mind before I went to Yama-chan for the first time. Well, it’s probably better to eat some veggies with it to go healthy, but yes, it definitely can be a dinner. We only had Yama-chan’s wings last night and everyone was super happy.

The Yama-chan’s chicken comes with two flavors; “Original salt and peppers” and “Black sauce”. Both flavors are great, but in my opinion, original salt and peppers are the first choice. If you’re getting 20 wings, get 17 original ones and 3 black sauce ones. That’d be the ideal ratio.
You may think the wings are salty and I agree. Yama-chan’s restaurant was originally born as an izakaya, meaning their wings are more like the snacks for beer. Naturally, people like the flavor for drinking. but you can ask the restaurant to make it less salty if you’re health conscious.

We got about 70 chicken wings for around 6,500 yen. We shared with 4-5 people and it was more than enough!

Today is the Christmas Eve. Japanese people tend to eat chicken on Christmas for some reason I don’t know. KFC is hard to come by around this time of the year lol
Maybe try Yama-chan’s chicken instead?

友達に僕の名刺のデザインを頼んでいた。
「時間あるときでいいから♪」
ってなお願いだと、お金がつこうとも、多忙な方だと忙しくて後回し。
今晩しますって連絡あってから・・・
2か月くらい、連絡こないｗｗｗ

けど、こちらも急いではいないので、相手のタイミングを待つ。
そーいえば、WEB系デザインだったかをシェアメイトのＱさんが仕事してたはず。
僕の一番のくつろぎの場、大浴場でよく逢う。
そして、お逢いしたとき打診してみた。

すると、翌日だったか、部屋のドアにこんな紙が貼ってあった♪

あのおしゃべりオモロい人が、
こんなシャッシャッとデザインを書きこんで、
あっという間に仕事してくれる。
これだから、シェアハウス仲間って、いい意味で【よくわからん♪】ｗｗｗ

そして、お手すきのとき実際に作ってもらい完成したデザインがこちら

わざわざ手書きで、オリジナルなのを作ってくださった。
ほんと、感謝でしかない。
これで、裏面が異なる、名刺が出来上がった。
受け取る人の楽しむ顔が待ち切れない♪

ちなみに、気が乗らないと作業してもらえないので、
オーダーは難関不落♪ｗ

とがった７人の旅人が集まったトークショーで

７者７様のお話が興味深くびっくりばっかり、ムッチャおもしろくて

もっともっと聞きたいし話したかったです。w

それぞれの道を胸を張って踏みしめててかっこいい！

とっても刺激になりました。

旅だろうが、仕事だろうが、恋愛だろうが、

結局のとろ、自分を進めるのは自分の納得感ですね。

直感でも熟考の末でもなんでもいいから

自分に「うん」と言える道の上を歩きたいです。

しあわせや、満足や、恐れや、悲しみや、

自分の感情は自分だけが決められるもの。

ちょっと離れたところにいる客観的な自分が

体ど真ん中の自分に「気持ちいいね、楽しいね」

って言ってあげられる道を選んでいきたいです。

時には、客観的な自分に許してもらいながら。

なんて感じるくらいの様々度だったのです。w

共通点は、自分を信じて突き進むエネルギー！

気持ちのいいパワーを存分に感じることができて、幸せな時間でした。

人間力大學というイベントで、
コーチング界ですごい方『平本あきお』さんと再会した。
お隣りに大人気の保育園【天才キッズクラブ】の先生。
平本さんがぜひ見学したいとおっしゃられ、
「のぶきさんも一緒にいこうよ」

保育園に一切興味ない僕が、大物さんのお誘いなために伺ってみた。

結果から言うと、すげー保育園だった。
文武両道をきっちりされてる。
それも自発的にうながす感じで。

田中理事長がみずから、子どもと接しまくる
⇒各先生の夢を応援することで、先生を輝かせる
⇒先生が子どものやる氣と能力を引き出す
⇒子どもの元気が家族に伝染させてく

そんな正のスパイラルを生み出してる。

トップって、やはり大事だと感じた。
個も全体も考え、win-winの仕組み化をされている。
器が大きかった。

初めて保育園から登壇依頼もいただいた。
僕のトークの最初26秒をいただいたので、アップします。

行ってとても学びになった。

電池の充電サイクル間に合う限り

石垣にいます。

いつでも広い世界にいられるここが大好きです。

海が広くて、空が広い。

周りはジャングルみたいな緑の海。

風が吹けば木がわっさわっさと揺れて

雨がふればカエルがゲコゲコ鳴き始めます。

夜に雲が切れれば満天の星！

で、わたしはせっせとドローン空撮。

こっちの海から陸地をまたいであっちの海を見渡せる、

島またぎシーンを探してます。

朝は日の出15分前に目指すポイントに着くように、

昼間は雲切れ待ち雨やみ待ちして、
（石垣の空は、この季節安定しないんです）

夕方は日の入り15分前に着くように動いて

とにかくまぁ、よく飛ばしてます。

やればやるだけですね(*´ω｀*)

自分の撮りたいシーン、撮りたいポイントの探し方、

撮りたい色、撮り方術、トラブルシューティングなどなど

以前よりずっとわかってきた感覚ありまして、んーワクワクするぅ。

ひとつの作品として仕上げるのが目標なんです。

というわけで、せっせと飛ばします♪

I have great news today. One of our housemates Joon started his own business. He now is a entrepreneur who is living in Oakhouse.
I met Joon in Oakhouse Kichijoji 2 about a year ago. Both of us still lives in the same Oakhouse and we talk about his business in the living room sometimes.

At the beginning of 2017, many of us in the house came down to the living room and did something old school, new Year’s calligraphy or 書き初め in Japanese. It is a Japanese tradition to write down your new year’s resolution with a brush.

When we wrote down our new year’s resolusion in January, 2017

It’s something fun to do with friends especially in a share house, “an intersection of life” where every one of us is from different places and going to different places in life.

At that calligraphy, I remembered what Joon wrote. He wrote “starting a business”. You see? He is a man of word. He actually quit his full-time job to start a business. I’m impressed that he kept his word within such short period of time.

His business is about… coffee. He made a local shop to drink coffee. It’s not technically a cafe but you can visit his shop anyway and that’s what I did a few days ago.

To tell you more about his business, it’s more about selling personalized coffee beans online than a serving coffee at a local cafe. So what’s so special and new about his business?

Everyone has a different preferences on coffee. Some likes dark thick coffee, others like light ones with less caffeine, and there’s bluebottle coffee which is somewhat sour and not everyone likes it. It’s not too far to say… there’s no perfect coffee that everyone likes.

Coffee set which you get to do the tasting of three different coffee of your choice.

The smell of a fresh drip coffee was just great.

Cottea, the brand name of his coffee, wants to admit the fact. They made a “coffee map” where they cover the diversity of coffee, not by brands or bean origin, but by taste.

I personally think it’s a great idea for both coffee lovers and even people who don’t know coffee much. I don’t usually drink coffee but after trying his coffee, I know what kind of coffee I like and what kind of coffee I don’t like.

Some of the housemates helped him start his company from the conceptual level. Me as a writer and editor, Maud as a UI/UX designer. I think Oakhouse Kichijoji 2 is a great environment for ideas to hatch. If you think about the skill sets of our housemates, it’s also a great place to make something happen together.
