We had a really great party at Social Residence Sagamihara recently. It was an international food party! In the lobby, we have photos of all of the residents posted on a bulletin board. However this past month the photos were rearranged to be placed on a world map showing where everyone is from. It was up to us to cook some food representative of our country to share with others at the party.

A few people in the share house are from America, including myself. We decided to all pitch in some money to make grilled steak on a BBQ outside and some fajitas.

I had the idea to make fajitas because it’s a food I often cooked for myself while living in America. Fajitas are a Mexican food but there is often a difference between how Mexican food is prepared in Mexico vs in the United States. So, I was offering American style Fajitas, like you could buy at many Mexican style restaurants all over the country. For those that don’t know what a Fajita is, here is a photo.

A few people asked me how to cook them so I’ll write a blog post about how to make Fajitas in the future.
It was a really great evening with so many people cooking all sorts of delicious food from many different countries. I was glad I attended the party and that we have people from so many countries living in Social Residence Sagamihara. Here are a few photos of some of the different foods that people made.
